Meta is reportedly gearing up to launch its AI chatbot as a standalone app, expanding beyond its current integration within Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. While Meta AI is already accessible via a web client, the company has yet to offer it as a dedicated mobile or desktop application.

Meta AI Standalone App: Expected Launch Timeline

According to a CNBC report, Meta is preparing to introduce its AI chatbot as an independent app alongside its existing platforms. The launch is expected in Q2 2025, meaning it could arrive between April and June.

This move aligns with CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of positioning Meta as a leader in AI before the end of 2025. The company aims to compete directly with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, both of which already have standalone apps.

Premium Version & Monetization Plans

In addition to launching a separate app, Meta is reportedly exploring a premium version of its AI assistant. This paid model would offer exclusive features for subscribers, following a similar approach to OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google.

Meta’s Chief Financial Officer, Susan Li, previously stated that the company is focused on building a “great consumer experience” with Meta AI while also identifying clear monetization opportunities through paid recommendations.

Zuckerberg’s $65 Billion AI Push

During Meta’s Q4 earnings call in January, Zuckerberg expressed his ambition to make Meta AI a “highly intelligent and personalized AI assistant” that could reach over a billion users.

A separate report revealed that Meta plans to invest up to $65 billion (roughly ₹5.61 lakh crore) in AI development throughout 2025. This investment will support new data centers and expand AI research teams to accelerate the company’s progress in artificial intelligence.

Final Thoughts

With a dedicated AI chatbot app and premium subscription model, Meta is positioning itself as a major competitor in the AI space. Will it succeed against OpenAI and Google, or will it struggle to gain traction? Time will tell. Stay tuned for updates! 🚀🤖
