Kia has made a bold move in its electric vehicle journey, unveiling three new models at a global event: the Kia EV4, Kia PV5, and Concept EV2. These vehicles mark a significant step toward diversifying Kia’s EV lineup, with offerings ranging from electric sedans and hatchbacks to commercial vehicles and compact SUVs. Let’s take a closer look at each of these exciting additions.

Kia EV4: Sleek and Versatile

One of the most anticipated launches was the Kia EV4, which will be available in both sedan and hatchback versions. Built on Kia’s E-GMP platform, the EV4 brings a fresh and modern design to the table.

The sedan variant stands out with a remarkable WLTP range of up to 630 km, while the hatchback version offers a slightly shorter range of 590 km. Both versions are equipped with two battery options: 58.3 kWh and 81.3 kWh. The EV4 will first be available in South Korea starting March, with plans for a wider release in global markets shortly after.

Kia PV5: Electric Van for Every Need

Next, Kia introduces the PV5, an electric van that expands the company’s footprint in the Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) segment. Initially shown as a concept at CES 2024, the PV5 is now production-ready, designed for both commercial and passenger use.

The PV5 is powered by a front-mounted 161 bhp electric motor, generating 250 Nm of torque. Multiple battery configurations are available, including 51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh NCM packs. For those needing extra space, the cargo version is equipped with a 43.3 kWh LFP battery. When fitted with the larger battery, the PV5 Passenger variant can cover up to 400 km on a single charge.

Concept EV2: Kia’s Entry-Level Electric SUV

Lastly, Kia revealed the Concept EV2, a preview of the brand’s future entry-level electric SUV. Expected to launch in Europe by 2026, the EV2 shares a similar size and boxy design with the Kia Syros sold in India. The futuristic design aligns closely with Kia’s global EV models like the EV9.

While specific powertrain details are still under wraps, the Concept EV2 is anticipated to feature a 49.0 kWh battery with a range of approximately 300 km. It is expected to come with a front-mounted electric motor producing 113 hp and 146 Nm of torque.

A Step Toward the Future

Kia’s launch of these three electric models showcases its commitment to expanding its EV portfolio. Whether you’re looking for a sleek sedan, a versatile electric van, or an affordable urban SUV, Kia’s new offerings aim to meet the needs of various customers.

As the global shift toward electric mobility continues, Kia is positioning itself as a major player in the transition to cleaner, greener vehicles. Stay tuned for more updates as these models start making their way to markets worldwide.
