At MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Human Mobile Devices (HMD) introduced the HMD Amped Buds, a pair of wireless earbuds with an innovative twist—they double as a slim power bank.
A Charging Case That Powers More Than Just Your Buds
The HMD Amped Buds case comes with a 1,600mAh battery and supports reverse wireless charging, meaning it can power up compatible devices, including smartphones. Weighing just 80g and measuring 14mm thick, it remains compact and lightweight for easy portability.
To charge the case itself, users can choose between wired charging via USB-C or magnetic wireless charging for added convenience.
Comfortable Fit with Water Resistance
Designed for all-day wear, the earbuds feature an adjustable hinge design for a secure, comfortable fit. They also come with splash resistance, rated IPX4 for the case and IP54 for the earbuds, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor use.
High-Quality Audio with Advanced Features
The HMD Amped Buds deliver high-resolution, lossless audio thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 and Snapdragon Sound technology. Equipped with 10mm drivers, they promise rich sound quality with deep bass and clear highs.
For noise control, they include hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for clearer calls. Each earbud features a triple-microphone array to isolate your voice during conversations.
Impressive Battery Life for Nonstop Listening
Battery life is a major highlight. Each earbud lasts up to 8 hours per charge, or 4.9 hours with ANC on. With the charging case, total playback extends to an impressive 95 hours—perfect for long trips or extended use.
Seamless Connectivity & Smart Features
The HMD Amped Buds offer multipoint connectivity, allowing users to pair with two devices simultaneously. They also support Google Fast Pair, voice assistants, and low-latency mode for smooth gaming and video playback.
Pricing & Availability
In Europe, the HMD Amped Buds will be available in April 2025 for GBP 169. While pricing details for the Philippines remain undisclosed, HMD has already hinted at an upcoming local launch.
Color options include Cyan, Black, and Pink, giving users stylish choices to match their preferences.
