Valve is set to give gamers even more value with a major update to its Daily Deals program. In a blog post on February 26, Valve announced it will be expanding the number of games featured in the program from four to six daily offers. This exciting change aims to provide gamers with more choices while also offering smaller developers greater visibility on one of the world’s most popular gaming platforms.
Why the Change Matters for Gamers and Developers
Since its launch in 2003, Steam has grown into a powerhouse in the PC gaming world. It regularly sets new records for concurrent users and remains a top destination for gamers, despite competition from platforms like the Epic Games Store and GOG. Known for its massive sales and regular updates, Steam continues to be the go-to platform for both big-budget AAA titles and indie gems.
The expanded Daily Deals program is set to make discovering new games even easier. By increasing the daily selection from four to six, Valve hopes to offer a wider variety of titles. The “Today’s deal” tag, found in the “Special Offers” section of the homepage, will highlight these deals, making them easy to spot for gamers. Typically, these offers stay on the homepage for 24 hours, but some may last even longer.
A Win for Developers and Gamers Alike
Valve’s recent blog post also highlighted the success of the Daily Deals program. In 2024, over 2,800 games from more than 1,160 developers received special exposure thanks to the Daily Deals feature. With the expanded program, Valve aims to increase this reach, helping both well-known developers and smaller creators find new audiences. Gamers can expect to see a more diverse range of games on display, from familiar favorites to hidden indie treasures.
What’s Next for Steam?
Though the exact launch date for the expanded Daily Deals program hasn’t been confirmed, Steam’s 2025 sale schedule is already set. Major events, including the Spring Sale on March 13 and the Summer Sale on June 26, promise plenty of discounts and promotions. As Steam continues to innovate and refine its offerings, both gamers and developers have even more to look forward to in the year ahead.
